He has been a community physician in Internal Medicine and member of the Hilo Medical Center medical staff since 1981. In addition to his private practice, he is a Long-Term Care Hospitalist at Hilo Medical Center. Dr. Belcher is licensed to practice Medicine and Surgery in the State of Hawaii. He has received National Medical Board Certification and Medical Specialty Board Certification. He is a faculty member at the University of Hawaii at Manoa’s John A. Burns School of Medicine and School of Nursing and Dental Hygiene; HMSA Medical Home Project (Big Island Health Information Exchange); and a member of HMSA Physician Liaisons Committee. Dr. Belcher is a deacon at the Waiakea Uka Bible Church; and is a trustee at the Yacht Club of Hilo.
